IPL 2018: Five Expensive Players who justified their Price Tag

Indian Premier League auctions were held this year which gave an opportunity to all the eight franchise to pick their players. As soon as the IPL is done and dusted, we start judging player’s performance on the price they were bought.

There were some players who were not able to live up to the huge expectations and thus found themselves trapped at the bottom. However, they are players who come up good with their performances after bagging a good deal in the auctions. Thus, these players were able to justify their huge price tag.

Meanwhile, it would not be fair to blame the player’s performance due to their high price tag. The high price is not asked by a particular player and they are given a big cheque by the franchise on the basis of their current form.

Let’s take a look at the Five Expensive Players who Justified their High Price:

KL Rahul was bought for a whopping INR 11 crores by the Kings XI Punjab. The stylish right-hander scored 659 runs in the 14 innings he played for his new Punjab franchise. The Punjab opener ended as the third highest run-getter of the season.

The flamboyant opener scored six fifties in the 14 matches he played. Thus, the right-hander gave a solid platform to the Kings XI Punjab innings. Rahul also scored the fastest fifty off just 14 balls in the opening match against Delhi Daredevils.

Moreover, Rahul also did a decent job behind the stumps. Thus, he was the worth the value for the Kings XI Punjab side. However, Rahul didn’t receive support from the other end and thus Punjab failed to make their way into playoffs stages.
