Kings XI Punjab’s (KXIP) top-scorer for the recently-completed eleventh edition, KL Rahul has sent out a message for the KXIP fans that the much-awaited trophy is not too far away from the Mohali-based outfit.
Meanwhile, Punjab lost their track midway in the season after scripting an outstanding start. They lost back-to-back games at the end of the league to bow out of the cash-rich tournament.
However, among all these, Rahul was a shining start in Punjab’s set up. He amassed 659 runs in 14 games at a staggering average of 54.91. He also registered the fastest fifty in the Twenty20 league. He hammered the record fifty off just 12 balls.
Moreover, Karnataka-based batter Rahul finished as the third highest run-scorer after Kane Williamson and Rishabh Pant.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) lifted their third title by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by eight wickets at the Wankhede Stadium.

KXIP is one of few teams who are yet to put their hands on that much-coveted trophy. They came out of the auction with one of the strongest team on paper, however, failed to replicate on the field at the fag end of the competition.
KL Rahul talking about the fans admitted that they are very passionate about their team. He also promised the trophy isn’t too far from coming to Punjab.
“It was really nice to be a part of the Kings XI Punjab. I have always loved Punjabi people because of the way they live their lives to the fullest. They supported us, and that helped us win. We only want to get better and better and keep entertaining our crowd,” he said to the franchise’s website KXIP.
“Just want to tell them that this is a different team, just to forget about the 10 years that have happened before and forget about this year. I can promise that the trophy isn’t too far away for King XI. The team is looking great and I am feeling confident. We will make sure that the crowd gets what they want,” he concluded.
